The Block Design button is greyed or does not respond
The first view you ever see when launching Quilt Wizard for the first time is the Quilt Table view, with a Quilt created with the defaults, as shown in the screen shot below. This is a list view, but there is only one design, until you add more (using the + button in the navigation bar, or via “Edit”).
The Block Design tab button is greyed, because the functionality is not available in this view; you have first to enter in Quilt design, you do so by tapping the quilt cell, or one of the quilt cells if you have added more designs. The screen shot below shows the quilt design view, when you select a quilt for the first time – that is, one that does not have yet a selection of fabrics and block designs.
As you can see, the Block Design button is not greyed anymore, you can now tap it, or just tap the big “Design Block” button on the right of the “Choose Fabrics” button, it’s the same – this button is just there to show the next steps to start your quilt design.
There is no check buttons in the Fabrics table
Here is below a screenshot of the Quilt Table view, with 2 designs, one completed, and one just new :
As explained in the previous topic, the Block Design tab button is disabled when you are in the Quilt Table view. However, the Fabrics button is enabled, and you can indeed add fabrics (via the Photo button), or add notes to fabrics. So starting from the view above, and tapping the “Fabrics” button, you end up with the view below; as you can see there are no check boxes, because since you have not selected a quilt for design, you can’t choose fabrics for your quilt.
However, if you enter into Quilt Design by tapping a quilt :
Then tapping the Fabrics button this is what you see now :
As you can see, check boxes are there for selecting your fabrics.
How do I rotate a block ?
In the Block Design view, there is a button with a down arrow shape, on the top right. Tap this button to reveal a menu.
The three buttons, from left to right allow you : to rotate the block 90 degrees clockwise, flip the block and duplicate the block. You can rotate the block as many times as you wish, you will see that the icon will change to reflect the current rotation of the block.
When you are done, just tap again the up arrow to hide the menu.
How do I delete a fabrics ?
In the Fabrics tab, tap the Edit button on the top left of the navigation bar. You’ll see that a red delete icon on cells left will appear for some fabrics, but not for all. This is because the application will not let you remove fabrics that are still in use in a block or selected for the quilt fabrics palette (checked in the fabrics tab). In order to remove the fabrics, de-select (uncheck) the fabrics in the fabrics tab, and make sure that the fabrics is not in use in any of the blocks in the quilt.
